The Minding Your Own Business quest in Hogwarts Legacy offers players one of the most uniquely atmospheric side adventures in the game. Originally exclusive to PlayStation platforms before becoming available to all players, this quest grants you ownership of your very own shop in Hogsmeade. Unlocking this shop requires navigating a psychological labyrinth filled with chilling encounters and clever environmental puzzles.

Starting the Quest in Hogsmeade

To begin this quest, you must travel to Hogsmeade after progressing through the main story up to the winter season. Speak with Penny the house-elf, who stands outside an abandoned shop near the center of the village. She explains that her owner, Cassandra Mason, is looking to sell the establishment to a worthy buyer.

After purchasing the shop for a fee, Penny hands you the key to the back room to begin clearing out the stored chest. Upon opening the chest, you descend a ladder that drops you directly into a subterranean realm controlled by a mischievous poltergeist named Fastidio. This marks the transition from a simple errand into an extended horror-inspired dungeon crawl.

Navigating Fastidio's Haunted Dungeon

The underground area consists of shifting rooms, illusory doorways, and surreal room layouts designed to disorient you. You must explore two distinct wings of the dungeon to collect lanterns and place them on statues to unlock the central door. Paying close attention to subtle atmospheric cues helps you keep your bearings when walls suddenly disappear.

Throughout this section, you will encounter animated mannequins that move only when you turn your back or extinguish light sources. Keeping Lumos cast when navigating pitch-black hallways prevents these unsettling foes from catching you off guard. Utilizing Revelio frequently will also highlight hidden levers and interactive objects through the illusions.

Confronting Fastidio and the Monster

At the climax of the dungeon, Fastidio challenges you directly using a giant amalgamation of furniture and debris known as Fastidio's Monster. The boss uses heavy slam attacks and flings debris across the arena, requiring well-timed dodges. Spells like Confringo and Bombarda work best to deal heavy damage while keeping your distance.

During the final stage of the battle, Fastidio turns the arena upside down and reverses your controls temporarily. Remaining calm and focusing on defensive counterattacks with Protego allows you to withstand this chaotic phase. Depleting the boss's health forces Fastidio to surrender and grant you passage back to the surface world.

Confronting Cassandra Mason and Claiming Your Shop

Once you emerge from the basement, you must confront Cassandra Mason regarding her deceptive sales tactics. A duel ensues where you must defeat her using offensive spells while parrying her dark magic projectiles. Defeating her alerts Officer Singer, who promptly arrests Cassandra for her crimes.

With the danger cleared, you gain full ownership of the shop alongside Penny. Running your own shop allows you to sell unwanted gear for a higher price than standard vendors across the map. This continuous financial boost makes completing this eerie quest exceptionally rewarding for any student wizard.
