To unlock this legendary item, players must undertake a short crossover side job introduced in update 1.6 called Over the Edge. Tracking down this piece of clothing allows players to personalize V while paying homage to Night City's most memorable mercenary.

Starting the Over the Edge Side Quest

To begin the journey toward claiming the outfit, travel to Megabuilding H4 in the Arroyo district of Santo Domingo. Search the nearby alleyways for a wall painted with a bright green Edgerunners emblem. Underneath the painted symbol, you will find a discarded braindance device sitting inside a trash can.

Communicating with El Capitan and Falco

Open your messages and send a text to El Capitan asking about the braindance recording. He promises to investigate the origins of the video and requests some time to gather intelligence. To move the quest forward, skip in-game time by twenty-four hours or complete other activities around Night City.

After sufficient time has passed, a former member of David's crew named Falco will contact V directly. Following a brief dialogue about the past, Falco confirms that a special package has been left behind for you. He directs V to collect the item from El Capitan at a designated pickup spot.

Locating and Equipping the Legendary Jacket

Set a waypoint to the Dam Viewpoint located in the Badlands to collect your reward. Near the scenic lookout where El Capitan stands, locate the small storage case resting on a ledge. Opening this case grants you David Martinez's yellow jacket, which automatically scales to your character's current level.

Once retrieved, open your inventory screen and navigate to the outer torso clothing slot to equip the jacket. This outerwear provides both a distinct visual aesthetic and space for clothing mods to enhance V's defensive capabilities. Equipping the piece completes the side quest and provides a permanent piece of Night City history.
